As a founding member and a leader of the Minnesota Universal Health Care Coalition, Papa John Kolstad lobbied the legislature and the Attorney General to promote universal health care here in Minnesota, including staged approaches to single payer health care.

I support a health care program that covers every one with comprehensive coverage, gives choice of doctor and hospital, gets the HMO’s out of the doctor’s office, save two to three billion dollars a year in Minnesota and has better outcomes than we have now. It’s called Single Payer and we know it works because all of the other major nations already do it.
